Mike Malek-Ahmadi '03 and Amanda Corn '03
Amanda and I met in June 1999 at our freshman orientation. To be exact, it was on the sand volleyball court behind the Arizona-Sonora dorm. We were on opposite sides and to get her attention I attempted to serve the ball at her, but all my serves ended up going over her head. Her first words to me were, "Dude, you don't have to hit the ball so hard!"
After the game, she approached and attempted to show me the correct way to serve. Little did she know that my horrible serves worked exactly as I planned since she came to talk to me. Although we did not start dating until we graduated, we remained good friends throughout our time at UA.
We are now happily married and love coming back to Tucson to visit the campus with our children.
