You're invited to UA Science Night at Birch Aquarium — overlooking the Pacific Ocean — the perfect place to learn and share innovative ideas with University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins and Joaquin Ruiz, UA College of Science dean, director of Biosphere 2 and Thomas R. Brown Chair of Innovation. Join the conversation about solving the world's greatest challenges through advances in science and technology at the UA College of Science. Welcome by UA Alumni Association President Melinda Burke.
Includes self-guided aquarium tour with heavy hors-d'oeuvres and one complimentary beverage. (A cash bar will be available.)
UA President Robert C. Robbins inspires listeners and alumni across the country to get involved with the UA. He will talk about strategies to advance the UA, ranked alongside the world's top academic research institutions. He will also share his thoughts on preparing students to solve problems in a rapidly changing technological world.
Dean Joaquin Ruiz will share the latest discoveries in UA Science. He will talk about solving the planet's greatest challenges and working alongside world-class faculty. Their research transforms the way we think about water, astronomy and the planet we inhabit. This includes research at Tucson's Biosphere 2 (pictured above), named one of the "50 Must-See Wonders of the World" by Time Life Books.
