Since 1943, the Arizona Alumni has presented accomplished alumni and friends with distinguished awards. Our goal is to recognize college alumni councils and advisory boards for outstanding achievement and/or service to the University of Arizona, their colleges and their communities.

Award Categories for Group Awards

University of Arizona College Advisory Board/Council Award of Excellence — est. 2000

The UArizona College Alumni Council Award of Excellence or UArizona College Advisory Board Award of Excellence is presented to the alumni councils or advisory boards of colleges that have distinguished themselves in the following ways, which must be detailed on the nomination form.

• Have current elected or appointed officers and board members
• Maintain bylaws or a mission statement
• During the previous academic year, have:
  • Held a minimum of two board meetings
  • Held a minimum of two college alumni/outreach events
  • Maintained communication links with its college dean or dean's designee
  • Maintained communication with the Arizona Alumni department

Form of award: Certificate for each board member
Time of award: Special event to be determined between nominator and Arizona Alumni
Number of awards: One per academic year

University of Arizona College Advisory Board/Council Red and Blue Award — est. 2000

The UArizona College Alumni Council Red and Blue Award or UArizona College Advisory Board Red and Blue Award is given to the alumni council or college advisory board that has provided the most distinguished service to its college and the University during the previous academic year.

The college alumni council or advisory board must meet the minimum requirements of UArizona College Alumni Council Award of Excellence or UArizona College Advisory Board Award of Excellence. In addition, selection is based on consideration of the following criteria, which must be detailed on the nomination form.

• Number and quality of written communications to the college’s alumni
• Number and quality of alumni programs, projects, and events, including local alumni involvement
• Participation in the college's homecoming activities, including number and quality of events
• Number and quality of active communication links with its college dean or dean's designee
• Number and quality of active communication links with the Arizona Alumni department

Form of award: Plaque or other form of recognition agreed upon between the Arizona Alumni department and the college.
Time of award: Special event to be determined between nominator and Arizona Alumni 
Number of awards: One per academic year

Judging

The Alumni Advisory Council reviews the nominees for each award and makes the final selection. Arizona Alumni reserves the right to suggest alternate awards based on a nominee’s qualifications.

Notification

Upon approval, award recipients are notified via congratulatory letter from Arizona Alumni. The nominating individual or organization and the affiliated college are sent a copy of the letter.
