What is your current job and what are your day-to-day responsibilities?
I am a product developer, which means I coordinate several teams. We all work together towards the same goal — getting great product into stores. I work with designers and factory personnel to brainstorm new product ideas, problem solve, and review and test samples.
I work with buyers to identify products and trends that are relevant to their customers, graphic designers to create exciting packaging, and testing labs to ensure quality and safety standards are met. As a PD, it's my responsibility to serve as the link between all these different teams to ensure we get things done efficiently and effectively.
How did your time at the UA prepare you to make networking connections and be successful as a professional?
My time at the UA was filled with opportunities to get in front of potential employers and make an impression. You just have to be willing to make the first move and put yourself out there.
What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received?
It's cliché, but do what makes you happy. I've found that doesn't only refer to the work itself, but also office culture and work/life balance. Know what your professional and personal priorities are and find a job that satisfies both.
