Alumni of the Year Awards Nomination Form

Each academic degree-granting college is invited to participate in this annual high-profile awards ceremony. This event gives colleges a unique opportunity to honor, highlight and profile accomplished alumni while increasing outreach and development.

Please review the details below for important information regarding your submission. Reach out to awards@uafoundation.org if you have any questions or need further information.

$1,000 per unit, which is used to help underwrite the costs associated with the event (invitations, programs, event and publicity production, catering and awards.)

To allow for adequate time to process 15 or more Alumni of the Year awards and develop an impactful awards ceremony, it is essential the awards process moves forward in a timely manner. Please adhere to the deadline.

The final deadline for 2023 submissions is July 10, 2023.

All nominations will receive an awards determination as they are approved. No additional nominations will be accepted after submission deadline.

The following information must be included and uploaded with the submission:

  • Two letters of recommendation: one from the dean of the nominating college and one from another person (see nomination criteria below).
  • A separate resume or detailed biographical statement on the nominee. Additional information from online or other sources can be included. Please ensure the information is updated and accurate.
  • Headshot of nominee.
  • Nominee name or preferred name, salutation and professional title.

Criteria for the nomination to be included in the two letters of recommendation:

Being as specific and detailed as possible, describe why and how the nominee has helped ensure the college's success and future by a) bestowing honor or recognition on the college and/or b) making significant contributions of time or resources to further the college's mission.

Criteria described in our various individual award categories can be a useful reference for determining extraordinary achievement (professional achievement, humanitarian or public service, advocacy for education, distinguished volunteerism, or service to students) that has bestowed honor or recognition on the college.

Please note: It is important to include as much detail as possible about the nominee and his/her professional and personal background. The awards committee reviews each nomination with great scrutiny and this information is incorporated into an award citation and a video highlighting the award winner.

Once the nominee has been approved, the college may be asked to supply additional information to be used in the award citation.
