Christopher Goettl knew from a young age that he wanted to be part of the future of medicine. Today, he is a board-certified interventional radiologist who performs a variety of cutting-edge, minimally invasive image-guided procedures. He has a special interest in treating liver cancer and complex vascular diseases.

After earning an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, Chris graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine’s Phoenix campus in 2012. He completed his radiology residency at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he served as chief resident for two years, and his fellowship training in interventional radiology at Stanford University.

Since 2018, Chris has worked as an interventional radiologist at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix and as a clinical assistant professor at the College of Medicine – Phoenix. In addition to teaching students and residents, he directs the Interventional Procedural Simulation Program at the College of Medicine’s Center for Simulation and Innovation, training medical students on a unique interventional procedural simulation platform. He also works as a physician consultant, teaching physicians around the country about specialized procedures.

Chris is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society, the Radiological Society of North America and the American Medical Association. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, basketball, cycling and time with his wife and two children.
