June 13, 2017 to June 24, 2017

Martin Luther launched the Protestant Revolution 500 years ago when he nailed his 95 Theses to a church door in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517. Learn about this German monk’s life, walk in his footsteps and discover his world on this exceptional educational program through this historic region of Germany. Visit Wittenberg, the birthplace of the Reformation. In Eisenach, stroll through Wartburg Castle, where Luther lived under the protection of his friends. Get a glimpse into Luther’s spiritual life in Erfurt, where he decided to devote his life to God. Visit Leipzig, where the famous debates between Luther and a Catholic theologian led to Luther’s eventual excommunication. This special journey also showcases the great composer J.S. Bach, who spent much of his career as the choir director of Leipzig’s St. Thomas Church. See an inspiring performance of the St. Thomas Boys Choir, founded 800 years ago.
