The University of Arizona has moved the occasion of Homecoming 2016 to Oct. 27-29. Family Weekend will be Oct. 14-16.
The changes were made to avoid any conflict with the Veterans Day holiday weekend and plans to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Homecoming originally had been scheduled for Nov. 10-12 and Family Weekend for Oct. 28-30.
With the changes, the UA football team will face Stanford on Homecoming and USC on Family Weekend.
The UA recognizes Veterans Day as a holiday for faculty, staff and students so that they are free to observe it as they choose. The University values service members and their contributions to the nation and freedom around the world. The UA is classified as a Veteran Supportive Campus, an exemplary employer of veterans and an educator of both active and former members of the military.
